Seungkyun Yu

Seungkyun Yu passed away at 1:43 p.m. on May 2, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born August 13, 1936 in Seoul, South Korea the son of Han Joon and Jong Myung Lee Yu.Seungkyun is survived by his wife, Hak Hyun Baik; sons- Sanghwa Yu of St. Louis, Missouri and Soohwa Yu of Champaign; grandchildren; Crystina Yu, Hanna Yu, Grace Yu, and BJ Yu; five sisters.Seungkyun received a college degree in South Korea. Him and his family moved to Champaign, Illinois on May 31, 1980. He eventually owned and operated a laundromat in downtown Champaign. He was a member of the Korean Church of Champaign- Urbana.  He enjoyed outdoor activities, like hiking and ice skating.

Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 Philo Road, Urbana, Il. 61802.  Pastor Ham will be officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:00 am at Renner-Wikoff. Condolences may be sent at www.renner-wikoffchapel.com
