Wanda Adams, 90, of Urbana passed away Wednesday May 1, 2019 at Meadowbrook Healthcare Center, Urbana.
Wanda was born November 5, 1928 in Oden, AR, a daughter of Henry Wade and June (Chapman) Kelly. She married Lewis Adams on December 11, 1949. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1991. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are 4 sons, Lewis Adams (Linda) of Sycamore, Larry Adams (Cheri) of Urbana, Clark Adams (Mervet) of Champaign, Kevin Adams of Champaign and a daughter, Karen Tolley (Tim) of Urbana. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Philip Adams (Sunny), Zachary Adams (Heather), Rachel McSwain (Tanner), Todd Adams (Jenna), Amanda Adams, Courtney Adams and Carly Graham (Mick) and 3 great grandchildren.
Wanda attended Ouachita College, Arkadelphia, AR. She and her husband were stationed in Germany and England. Following his retirement from the U. S. Army, they moved to Urbana. Wanda was a teacher’s aide at Thomas Paine School and was then employed by Champaign County for 18 years. After retirement, she served as a jury commissioner and receptionist at Brookens Administrative Center.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday May 6 at Quest Church; A Community of Grace, 2004 Philo Rd., Urbana. The Rev. Casey Taylor will officiate. Burial will be at Danville National Cemetery, Danville. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 5 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory, 1900 Philo Rd., Urbana.
