Lois Ann Allhands Harpst, 92 of Champaign died peacefully in her home on Friday, March 1.
She is survived by five daughters-Claudia (Bob) Kirby, Janie Allhands, Colleen (Dana) Epperson, Beth (Shay) Allhands, and Jill (Howard) McIntosh. She is also survived by the children of her second husband the late John Harpst-John (Jeannie) Harpst, Tara (Kenneth) Nicholls and Thomas (Martha) Harpst. She leaves a sister Mary (Bill) Fredrick, sisters-in-law Betty Webber and Barbara Webber of Urbana and fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Claude Allhands and John Harpst, by her parents Marion Everett Webber and Anna Romelia Webber and by brothers William (Betty) Webber and Don (Barbara) Webber.
Lois was born in Racine, Wisconsin on February 6, 1927. She graduated from Urbana High School. She was a real estate broker for 20 years and co-founder of Hallmark Realty and earlier she worked at the University of Illinois. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Champaign, Moose Lodge of Bradenton Beach and the Heritage Doll Club of Manatee County, FL.
Lois loved her time with family and friends, making dolls and pies and relaxing on a pontoon boat. She loved to tell people about her five beautiful daughters.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Champaign at 2 PM on Saturday March 9, the Rev Matt Matthews officiating.
