Mrs. Butsch was born in Mattoon, IL on July 19, 1935, the daughter of Arthur and Irene (Brown) Denman. She married Joseph M. Butsch on November 14, 1964, and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2013. She is survived by four children, Steve LaCelle of California, Kristy (Al) Cooney of California, Joella (Tom) Gher of Mahomet, Joe (Michelle) Butsch of Monticello, sister Judy Yette of Champaign, and many loved Grandchildren & Great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Butsch graduated from Champaign High School. She worked as a telephone operator at Chanute Air Force Base, Rantoul, University of Illinois, Carmen's, Illini Studio, Champaign Telephone Co., Jewel/Eisner and Schnucks.
She and her husband, Joe, spent much of their years together collecting classic cars, and going on road trips near and far to collect antiques for their home. They also frequented local diners like Taffies and Steak 'n Shake for their coffee and cuisine for decades.
Joyce was a fashionista- a bejeweled, high heel and animal print wearing woman. She loved to spoil her dog, Jo Jo, along with her other family pets over the years. She baked arguably the best peanut butter cookies in town, and binge watched reality tv and sitcoms in her down time. She loved her time with her sister and dog out for frozen custard at Culver's. Her bold personality and uniqueness will be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Champaign County Humane Society.
